MASVINGO – Junior High School is preparing for a new chapter in its glamourous history following the appointment of Stanley Mutsambiwa as the new substantive head.
Mutsambiwa is expected to take over leadership of the prestigious school commencing this term, adding a new feather onto Junior High School’s glistening crown.
A highly-regarded educator with vast experience as school head, Mutsambiwa has previously headed Gokomere High, Mukaro High, and has most recently been heading Silveira High, all of which are top performing Catholic schools.
The whispers of change have since spread in the circles of quality education where Junior High School has solidly established itself as a force to reckon with.
The new appointment was confirmed by Junior Enterprises Director, Noah Marima who expressed optimism at the school’s prospects at the hands of Mutsambiwa who brings with him a vast wealth of vital experience.
“We look to the future with brimming confidence. Our new recruit is a man who has proved to be deeply passionate about holistic educational excellence. His forward-thinking approach to technology in the classroom, and his commitment to student-centered learning made him the perfect choice for this post. We look forward to greater achievements through his leadership,” said Marima.
Junior High School belongs to the blossoming Junior Enterprises portfolio which boasts successful businesses, and these include Junior Driving School, Junior Group of Schools and Junior Microfinance.
Mutsambiwa, who has already taken early retirement as a public servant, said he stood ready for the new task at hand.
“New challenges are a necessary part of growth, and I am ready for the task at hand. I believe that education is not just about grades, and that it is about building character, fostering creativity, and preparing young minds to excel in an ever-changing world. I am here to guide, to challenge, and most importantly, to listen,” said Mutsambiwa.
He said he will implement a more open and transparent communication strategy to ensure that parents were kept in the loop about their children’s progress, and about the school’s ongoing developments.
In an increasingly competitive knowledge-driven society, Mutsambiwa said, priority should include the exposure of students to real world application of knowledge.
“While academics remain at the core, we will introduce a new focus on real-world application of knowledge. In partnership with local businesses and global experts, we will begin offering master classes, internships, and mentorship programmes.
“Students will experience first-hand how their lessons could be applied to the outside of the classroom, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Through this approach, we want to ensure that students are prepared for life, and not just for exams,” Mutsambiwa said.
Junior High School aspires to establish an innovation hub designed for students to create, collaborate and experiment with new ideas.
During his stint at Silveira High School, Mutsambiwa managed to drive the school into the pool of high performing schools delivering remarkable results at both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels.
Junior High School is conveniently located at the edge of Rhodene suburb where it magnificently inspires travelers along the Masvingo – Harare Road.
