Jenya High School marked a significant milestone in its journey toward academic excellence with the opening of a newly refurbished science laboratory during its annual speech and prize-giving ceremony held last week.

The transformation of the laboratory was facilitated by Bancroft Investments, and the school plans to introduce hard sciences—Biology, Physics, and Chemistry—beginning in January 2026.

“We believe in empowering schools with the right facilities to nurture future scientists and innovators,” said Mr. Masiiwa of Bancroft before donating football jerseys to support the school team.

In his remarks, Chivi District Schools Inspector (DSI) Dr. Eversmiling Ndongwe praised Jenya High School for producing good results, saying the laboratory will build upon current successes.

“This facility will provide students with the tools they need to innovate,” he said.

Speaking at the same event, Chivi North Member of Parliament (MP) Godfrey Mukungunugwa, who has consistently supported the school in cash and kind, said he was impressed that three of the seven 2025 presidential scholarship recipients from the constituency had been drawn from Jenya High School.

“Your achievements reflect your potential. Keep embracing challenges, learning from failures, and building resilience. Chikoro chinovakwa nevene vacho,” he said.

In his heartfelt address, Jenya High School Head Tinaishe Rubaya attributed the success to the collective resilience and teamwork of teachers, parents, pupils, and other stakeholders.

“Today’s achievements belong to all of you who have invested your time, resources, and love into these young minds. We have created a conducive environment together, and our students can thrive and reach their full potential,” said Rubaya.
