Bikita Minerals has celebrated a major milestone after successfully hosting the 10th edition of the Chief Marozva Bikita Minerals Sports Tournament on Saturday, 6 December 2025 — an event that has grown into one of Bikita’s most anticipated community gatherings.

What began a decade ago as a small local sports challenge has transformed into a district-wide festival of talent, unity and healthy living.

This year’s tournament showcased the best of Bikita’s youthful energy, attracting more than 500 spectators to Lithium Stadium, where cheers and drumbeats filled the air.

According to a statement from the company, the 2025 edition featured 12 soccer teams from Bikita West — 10 from the Chief Marozva area and two from Chief Mukanganwi’s jurisdiction. The netball arena was equally vibrant, with four determined teams battling it out in a spirited competition.

Bikita Minerals invested thousands into this year’s event, covering semi-final kits, trophies, prize money and meals for both participants and supporters.

The company emphasised that the sponsorship is part of its long-standing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at encouraging sportsmanship and steering young people away from drugs and substance abuse.

“The company has supported the tournament for 10 consecutive years, while Sinomine Group has been co-sponsoring the event since 2022, helping to ensure its sustainability as a flagship community sports initiative,” reads the statement.

Traditional leaders, youth groups and sports enthusiasts flocked to the stadium to rally behind their teams and show support for the two companies’ commitment to grassroots sport.

Over the years, the tournament has become more than just a competition — it is now a powerful platform for nurturing discipline, strengthening community bonds and promoting positive life choices.

Bikita Minerals reaffirmed its dedication to working with traditional leaders and local communities to promote youth empowerment, social development and long-term community wellbeing.
